About

Hello there! I am Kalliope! I am a lot of things: a student, a musician, a camp counselor, a recently established world traveler, a Christian, and a dreamer – not necessarily in that order lol.

I attend Emporia State University and I love it!!!!! am an Elementary Education major with a minor in music, an endorsement in ESL, and I’m also a member of the Honors College. I’m a member of the honor band fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi and a member of KNEA-Student Program. I am in love with the Emporia State community. I’ve met so many amazing people here and I can’t imagine my life without them.

Some of the greatest people I’ve met here are musicians. Through Emporia State Marching Band, Emporia State Wind Ensemble, and Emporia Symphony Orchestra I’ve made the best friends on campus I could have asked for. I love performing in these ensembles and I look forward to be able to use music in my classroom someday 🙂

In fact, I look forward to learning a lot of things I can add to my classroom. This semester, I have become a world traveler by spending four months studying abroad at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland. I am loving being here, learning about Finnish education and language education, and meeting so many people from all over the world.

Most importantly, I am a Christian. My faith guides my life. It keeps me close to my family, it keeps me motivated to pursue my passions because I feel like they were handed to me. And I believe that God is Love. He is my example. It is a huge priority for me to love people and approach each day with a smile 🙂

Of all the things that I am, all together it makes me a dreamer. I dream of a day where I get to have my own classroom, my own family, my own home. I dream of traveling all over the world learning about new people and new cultures. I dream of making the world a better place. And the best part is my dreams are being made a reality.
